Fierce Friday: Jennifer Lopez Inspired Makeup Look

I was on Tumblr and as I was scrolling, I came across posts on J.Lo's homage performance to the legendary, Selena.

The pictures were breathtaking. Her outfit was amazing. Her makeup was flawless.

I was inspired to do a makeup look based on that performance, but I couldn't find close up pictures of it. From what I gather, it looks the same as the makeup she had on the red carpet:

This was what I came up with:

To be honest, I wanted to put on fake eyelashes, but the ones I have were, uh, shit. #lol

Products used:

Base/Blush:

  • Missha Radiance Pore Primer
  • Revlon Colorstay Makeup (Warm Golden)*
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation (NC40)*
  • MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC35)
  • MAC Select Sheet Loose Powder (NC30)
  • theBalm Bahama Mama**
  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer**
  • Kryolan Cake Makeup (Ivory 2)**
**I mixed these two foundations together because I'm in the process of getting rid of these two. The Revlon one is too light for me while the MAC one is too dark.

**I used these to highlight and contour like J.Lo's makeup.

Eye:

  • MAC Paint Pot (Painterly)
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Liar)
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Factory)
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Strange)
  • MAC Prolongwear Eyeliner (Definitely Black)
  • MAC Fluidline (Blacktrack)
  • Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Lips:

  • MAC Lip Pencil (Boldly Bare)
  • MAC Matte Lipstick (Kinda Sexy)
  • MAC Sharon Osbourne Lipglass (Bijou)

Tutorial:

(1) After priming the eyes with the paint pot, tap on Liar with a fluffy eyeshadow brush and sweep it across the eyelid; stopping just below the browbone.

(2) Using a smaller brush, apply Liar on 1/3 of the lower waterline. Clean the brush. Tap on a Factory and Darkhorse and apply to the rest of the lower waterline.

(3) Using a blending brush, tap on Factory on the outer corner, then blend it inwards. Continue doing so until you are satisfied with the intensity.

(4) Apply Darkhorse on top; using the same brush and the same method.

(5) Wipe the blending brush clean. Sweep Strange on the browbone and the inner corners.

(6) Draw a thin eyeliner across the eyelid. Curl lashes and apply mascara (I recommend using 3 to 4 individual eyelashes and apply them only at the outer corners).

and....

THAT'S IT!!

I know, this doesn't seem "Fierce" compared to my other FF looks, but I've been busy and was rushing through this look because I didn't have time to prepare the pictures needed for this tutorial. :(

I'll do better next time. :)

I hope this helps.

Till then.

Ida
