Wearable Wednesday: Nicki Minaj Inspired Makeup Tutorial

So. I'm currently digging Flawless by Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj. And, since I was running out of ideas, I thought, why not do an inspired makeup on both of them??

So I did. #haha

I remembered watching Nicki Minaj's Pills N Potions MV a while ago and instantly fell in love with the visuals, her makeup and the song (it's playing in my head right now XP)

The makeup on the MV is the same (or almost) as what she's usually sporting now.

These were the pictures I used as reference:

And this was how it turned out:

(Nicki had on eyeshadows in a satin finish for a "no makeup" makeup look. I didn't have any, so I substituted it with a mix of shimmery and matte eyeshadows.)

Products used:

Base/Blush:

• MAC Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Primer

• MAC Prolongwear Waterproof Foundation (NC35)

• MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC35)

• MAC Sheer Select Loose Powder (NC30)

• MAC Eyebrow Crayon (Spiked)

Eyes:

• MAC Prolongwear Paint Pot (Painterly)

• Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill's Favorites Palette (1st row, 3rd eyeshadow; Beige)*

• Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill's Favorites Palette (2nd row, 2nd eyeshadow; Brown)*

Lips:

• MAC Matte Lipstick (Kinda Sexy)

• MAC Cremesheen Lipstick (Spice is Nice)

Tutorial:

(1) Prime eyes with the paint pot. Use a tiny amount and gently dab it onto the eyelid to blend and emulsify it.

(2) Spray the blending brush with Fix+. Dip it into the Beige eyeshadow. Sweep it all over the eyelid, including the inner corners and the brow bone.

(3) Spray the flat, stiff eyeshadow brush with Fix+. Dip it into Brown. Tap it onto the eyelid; avoiding the crease.

(4) Using the blending brush again (it doesn't matter if it's dry or still damp from the Fix+), dip it into Taupe. Sweep it in windshield wiping motion across the crease. Blend any "harsh lines" with the same blending brush. 

(5) Draw the eyeliner as shown. Curl eyelashes, apply mascara and false eyelashes

Lips:

• Apply Spice is Nice onto the lips.

• Lightly dab Kinda Sexy on top.

• Blend both colours together with finger tip.

DONE!!!!

I used the Jaclyn Hill's Favorites Palette because I just recently got it and wanted to try it out. 

So far, I'm loving the colours!!!

You can use any earth-toned eyeshadows that you have. The result will be much better if it's of a satin finish.
