Fierce Friday: Nicki Minaj Inspired Makeup Tutorial (Boys MV)

Hi.

So my intention was to try to do the makeup as close to Nicki's in the Boys MV.

But I guess it felt like so long since I went really dramatic and did something out of the box; that well, I kinda went "out of control". #lol

These pictures were what inspired me:

And this was what I came up with:

I tried to do the signature animated Nicki Minaj facial expressions; but it just wasn't working......... #lol

Remind me not to sign up for any modelling contract. #haha

Products used:

Base/Blush:
  • Missha Radiance Pore Primer
  • Revlon Colorstay Makeup (Warm Golden)*
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NC40)
  • MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC35)
  • MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter (Forecast)
  • MAC Sheer Select Loose Powder (NC15)**
  • MAC Sheer Select Loose Powder (NC20)
  • Missha The Style Smudge Proof Wood Brow (Dark Brown)
  • theBalm Bahama Mama'
  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer'
  • Kryolan Cake Make Up (Ivory 2)'
  • Coastal Scents Double Stacked Palette (1st row, 3rd blush)''
*I am in the midst of "getting rid" of these foundations. The Revlon one is too light and rosy for me while the MAC one is too dark for me.

**I used this to "cook" my undereye area.

'I used Bahama Mama to contour (according to my face shape) and the Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight on the bridge and the tip of my nose. For the Kryolan Cake Make Up, I used it to highlight my forehead and cheekbones.

''

Eye:

  • MAC Paint Pot (Painterly)
  • MAC Chromographic Pencil (Process Magenta)
  • Urban Decay Electric Palette (Savage)
  • MAC Pigment Colour Powder (Fuchsia)
  • White Glitter
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow (Sellout)
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Strange)
  • Maybelline Hypersharp Penliner (Black)
  • DiorShow New Look Mascara
  • MAC In Extreme Dimension Mascara (Black Extreme)

Lips:

  • MAC Lip Pencil (Hip 'N' Happy)
  • OCC Matte Lip Tar (Rollergirl)^
  • OCC Stained Gloss Lip Tar (Rhythm Box)^
  • OCC Lip Tar (Hollywood)^
^I mixed these colours together to get as close to Nicki's lip colour as possible.

really like how this turned out.

Anyways, for this post, I didn't include a tutorial because I figured this look was too dramatic; and it fell more on the fashion makeup category as opposed to Halloween or Theatrical makeup.

I mean, nobody wants to recreate a makeup look more suited for fashion, right?

Do comment down below or on any of my social media sites if you want a tutorial for this makeup look. ;)

Hope this helps.

Till then.

Ida
