So.
You know that crazy situation when you wake up late (or at least later than usual) and then panic because you only have a few minutes left to get ready??
And you're like, "I know I'm running late, but I don't want to look like I just got out of bed!" (Eventhough you did just got out of bed. #lol)
For today's post, I'm going to do a tutorial on how to tackle that crazy situation. ;P
Products used:
Base/Blush:
- Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (#27)
- MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC35)
- Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Loose Powder
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Ramirez)
- theBalm Shadow/Blush (FratBoy)
Eye:
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Gallagher)
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Chung)
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Patel)
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Batali)
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette (Matt Smith)
- DiorShow New Look Mascara
Lips:
- Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain+Balm (Flame)
- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Amsterdam)
Tutorial:
- First things first, go to the bathroom, brush your teeth and wash your face. This is absolutely essential. No matter how late you are. #lol #NoLie
- When you're done, slather on some BB Cream.
- What I like about BB Creams is that it is easy to apply and blend (just like a moisturizer), it has high SPF and it has skincare ingredients (so you'll feel less guilty about skipping that morning skincare routine. But I wouldn't recommend doing this everyday, though).
- Apply concealer. I used a high-coverage concealer like MAC's Studio Finish Concealer (To save time from having to reapply).
- I applied on places that needs concealing the most; like my undereye area, my nose area, and my chin area (this saves time from having to blend the concealer on like, practically my whole face. Lol.)
- Next, powder to set. I used Makeup Forever's HD Microfinish loose powder.
- I find this loose powder the easiest, least messy and the fastest to use because it has a "compressible netting"; which allows the powder to come out of the netting when I press it down with my powder brush.
- Eyebrows. I'm using theBalm's Meet Matt(e) Palette for my eyebrows and eye makeup (it's easier and faster if I use one eye palette as opposed to going back and forth with different ones).
- You can also make your own travel-friendly go-to eye palette.
- I filled my eyebrows in with an angled brush and a matte dark brown eyeshadow (Matt Ramirez). I find this the easiest, fastest and the most idiot-proof method of doing my eyebrows (you can skip this step if you have naturally thick-looking brows).
- Now, eye makeup!!! I've included a few tutorials; depending on how much time you have left to do the rest of your makeup.
- Tip: Use a dual-ended brush (a stiff brush on one end and a fluffy brush on the other); it'll save some time.
If you have 1 minute left...
(1) Prime your eyelids. Apply a mix of Matt Chung and Matt Gallagher onto the eyelids; just stopping at the crease.
(2) Highlight the brow bone and the inner corners with Matt Smith.
(3) Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara.
If you have 2 minutes left...
(1) Prime your eyelids. Apply a mix of Matt Chung and Matt Gallagher onto the eyelids; just stopping at the crease.
(2) Using a smudge brush, dip into Matt Patel and apply colour at the outer crease.
(3) Highlight the brow bone and the inner corners with Matt Smith.
(4) Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara.

(1) Prime your eyelids. Apply a mix of Matt Chung and Matt Gallagher onto the eyelids; just stopping at the crease.
(2) Using a smudge brush, dip into Matt Patel and apply colour at the outer crease.
(3) Using the tip of the stiff eyeshadow brush, tap on Matt Batali and apply it on the outer corners. Blend with the fluffy brush.
(4) Clean the fluffy brush with a tissue paper. Highlight the brow bone and the inner corners with Matt Smith.
(5) Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara.
- Apply blush.
- I used theBalm's FratBoy Shadow/Blush. I used this because it gave my overall makeup a pop of colour; and it balances out my neutral eye makeup. Plus, it is small and travel-friendly.
- Apply lip product/s.
- I used Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstain+Balm in Flame. Then I realised the red wasn't as bold as I wanted it to be (to match the blush), so I applied NYX's Amsterdam on top instead. #lol
AND YOU ARE DONE!!!
YAAYYYYY!!!!
If you have the time, you can also take some pictures for you blog just like I did. #hurhur
Tip: Usually, what I like to do is, once I'm done with each step of makeup, I put the item/s right infront of me. This is so that it's easier to go back and touch up when I did something wrong (during the process) and it is easier to pack - I just take all of the makeup items that's on the table into my makeup bag, and I'm set to go (or run. #hurhur)
And, if I ever need to touch up my makeup during the day or on the way to work, I have everything I used in my makeup bag!
Hope this helps.
Till then.
Ida

P.S. I timed this whole process. It took me about 4 minutes to do the base, 1 minute for eye makeup (the simplest one) and an extra one minute for the lips and blush.
